when i was a little kid, i came across this series of books in my local library (note: libraries fucking rule). the series was called Pendragon. The first book is about an attempted terrorist attack to free an enslaved uncerclass from their opredssors. Bobby pendragon, the protaganist, helps stop them from detonating a massive bomb that would probably have killed everyone involved. The series only gets grimmer. while it is a kids series, it is not appropriate for children. nonethless, i continued to read it. As the series goes on, Bobby grows up, from 14 to i think 21? im not entirely sure as my memeory of the series kinda gets hazt. He deals with threats from the main villain, as well as some self contained ones (all of which are secret evil plans by the main villan but its nominally a kids series so what did you expect). he deals the the plots of the matrix, the hunger games, spartacus, as well as some that arent comparable to existinf media, like the biochemical warfare plot or the blwing up the hindenburg to roundabout prevent the nazis from winning WW2 plot, a second bio-warfare plot, a water war, a failed repopulation effort of a dead world. then things collapse and theres terrorism, the decay of the Matrix, and an evil death cult all at once. after that shit goes down, bobby fucking dies, and ascends to the spirit world, where he meets with the other travelers. finally, theres a massive final battle over the fate of the universe. look this has basically just turned into a rant about how much this book series really isnt appropriate for the age i read it at but what did you expect from getting me to infodump
